Biography

The Chronicle of Delali Kwabla Agbemaka: A Tale of Resilience

Delali Kwabla Agbemaka, affectionately called “Honourable” by many of his friends and colleagues, is a purpose-driven young leader, a passionate healthcare advocate, and the current President of the Ghana Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (GPSA-KNUST). The jouney of Delali, who is a proud son of Abor in the Volta Region of Ghana, is one of grit, service and above all, humility. His favorite quote, “Though the road may be rough, the dream is valid. Rest not. Keep moving.” epitomizes this unique personality trait

Raised in a modest home by his mother alongside three brothers after his father’s early absence, Delali learned the values of integrity, sacrifice, and perseverance from a young age. The loss of his mother to breast cancer in 2010 deepened his resolve to live a life of impact, guided by the very principles she embodied: discipline, education, and selfless service.

Delali began his academic journey at Tadzewu R/C Basic School, continued through Oda El-Shaddai M/A JHS, and completed senior high education at Oda SHS and later, Uncle Rich SHS in Winneba. He is currently in his fifth year pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Though he initially dreamt of becoming a medical doctor, his perspective shifted during pharmacy school, especially after seeing the critical role pharmacists play in cancer care—a cause deeply personal to him. Today, he is deeply passionate about pharmacy and its power to transform lives.

Delali’s leadership track record spans from basic school to university. At KNUST, he has served as President of GPSA-KNUST, PRO of the Pharmacy Christian Fellowship, and Chief Study Room Coordinator of the Faculty of Pharmacy. His leadership began much earlier, having held several high school roles including School Prefect, Cadet Commander, Red Cross President, and Boys’ Organizer of the Harmonious Chorale.

He is particularly proud of spearheading impactful initiatives such as breast cancer awareness campaigns, free health screenings, an awards segment for the White Coat Ceremony, and the renovation of the Students’ Office.

Despite financial and emotional hardships, Delali has persevered—bolstered by scholarships, part-time work, mentors, and an unwavering faith in God. His resilience is matched by a desire to serve others and uplift his community.

In the short term, he aims to complete his PharmD program and join the military as a pharmacist. Long-term, he envisions contributing to healthcare policy, mentoring future leaders, and championing community development projects across Ghana.

Delali is often described as resilient, visionary, and empathetic. He believes in leading with compassion, excellence, and accountability. Whether singing, “mouth trumpeting,” writing speeches, or planning programs, his creative talents shine just as brightly as his leadership.

He hopes to be remembered as a man of integrity who rose from humble beginnings to become a bridge for others—a servant-leader and a voice of hope.
