An old saying reminds us, “A good administration is not measured by what it promises but by what it delivers.” The Expanding Horizon administration, as part of their mantra, sought to transform GPSA into a dynamic center for raising future pharmacists who are well-rounded in all facets of life, prepared to take on the world. Leadership, an indispensable aspect of our world since ancient times, could therefore not be left unattended to. True leaders, after all, have the capacity to turn vision into reality. As Dorin Kearns Godwin, an American biographer and political commentator, puts it, “Leadership is about the ability to inspire people to achieve great things, even when the odds are against them.”.

On May 24, 2024, the administration hosted a leadership forum at the pharmacy conference room at dusk. The theme for the event was “The Roadmap to Purposeful and Impactful Leadership” and aimed to provide a leadership mentorship session for aspiring student leaders.

The occasion was graced with the distinguished guest speakers, Dr. Bright Ampofo and Mr. Kofi Asante Djabatey, each bringing a wealth of experience in the field of leadership. They have had the opportunity to hold a variety of leadership positions ranging from basic-level class representatives to members of the SRC parliamentary council. Their presence was of great value, radiating their leadership skills and imparting to the people the skills and insight to lead effectively.

The speakers conveyed to the audience the need to understand that leadership is a secondary nature to man, and not only do men have to be leaders in every aspect of their lives, but their leadership should be purposeful and impactful. It is through this that their contributions would be valuable and meaningful.

The Leadership Forum unlocked leadership potential in all who were present and imparted knowledge and insight in leadership abilities. This made the event successful, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
