AKWAABA NIGHT is a cherished tradition of GPSA-KNUST, held annually to warmly welcome freshmen into the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FPPS) and by extension, the Ghana Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (GPSA) — and this year’s edition was nothing short of spectacular. With even more pomp, glamour, and vibrant energy than ever before, AKWAABA NIGHT ’25 lived up to its promise of being a memorable and engaging celebration.

Held on a purposefully planned weekend evening, the event kicked off with lively music that filled the air and set the tone for the night. The GPSA-KNUST executives officially welcomed attendees before a dynamic lineup of performances took center stage. From creativity showcases and talent exhibitions to high-energy dance routines, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement.
Students eagerly joined in a variety of interactive games, including the crowd-favorite “Flip the Bottle, Take the Pizza” and an entertaining rap battle that had everyone cheering. The event drew close to 300 attendees, a testament to the enthusiasm and community spirit it fostered.

One of the highlights of the night was a thrilling performance by Bhaddext Patoa, which had the crowd singing and dancing along. A virtual reality gaming station added a modern twist to the fun, keeping students entertained throughout the evening. As the night rolled on, refreshments from KayCa kept everyone refreshed and energized.
AKWAABA NIGHT ’25 was indeed a celebration of new beginnings, unity, and the vibrant culture of GPSA-KNUST: a perfect way to welcome the Rx 30 class into the world of Pharmacy.
