Life Is Not A Race

Life is not a competition
To be prized like trophies
Life is not a race
To be rewarded like medals
Life is not a contest
To be awarded like crown jewels
Life is not an achievement
To be judged and be honored
Life is not a disease
To be diagnosed and treat
Life is not an investigation
To find the truth of a matter

Life is, and is but a game
And until you know its
Rules and regulations,
Life becomes a war
That you have to struggle,
Hustle, confront and combat
Life is a solo game
No template, pattern nor a role model
You have to make your own way
YES! your own way

How can you compete, race,
Contest against oneself?
How can you struggle, hustle,
Combat with your own self?
Whilst life is a solo game
Even if you win, you still lose
Trophies, medals crown jewels, need not
Be simple, keep things simple
And with simplicity, write your story
On every blank page given to you
Like every single new day.

Make your stories interesting
For you are the one to read and enjoy
On your path, sow fragrant flowers
For you’re the one to smell the perfume
In your garden, plant trees that give shade
For you are the one, who will sit in the shade and relax
No comparison. Compare yourself to others,
Miserable you will be, b’cos, on top today, down tomorrow
Compare you to yourself, always one
YOU ARE UNIQUE
