Editor’s note:
So Doctor of pharmacy?
It is a long, wonderful and an exciting journey. The experience can only be sometimes likened to going down the rabbit hole- anything and everything is possible. For some of us this may be a dream come through or just a means to an end. Others may have already paint- ed wonderful pictures about how the future in the white coats will be. Some- times just the thought of the road be- tween now and then can be a bit frightening.
However, this journey promises to be everything you’ve hoped for and what your sweetest daydreams could never reveal. There are days you’ll feel like being on top of the world and others when giving it all up is the only food your thoughts can nimble on. But that’s the life of pharmacy school. It brings out the very best in us. So whatever the outcome of the first lap may be, never give up. Be like Spartacus who rose from the pits to become a Gladiator.
This also isn’t the time to make any hard and fast decisions; this is the time to make mistakes. Pick up an art, get stuck somewhere, join a group. fall in love, fail, make bad, even worst choices then change your mind and change it again because nothing is permanent. Make as many mis- takes you can so that one day when they ask you what you want to be, you wouldn’t guess but you’ll know because you’ve seen and been through it all. Don’t skip any of the lessons this wonder- ful school will teach you, bitter as they may taste. However, begin at the very be- ginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop holding your head high above your shoulders always. One day you’ll see beyond the horizon and every- thing will be clearer.
This special edition of the GPSA’s newslet- ter will be flooded with memories and ex- periences from our wonderful pharmily all in a bid to bring you a step closer to en- joying the pharmacy experience. Welcome to THE HORIZON.
