OVERVIEW

The Judicial Council established under Chapter 8, article 45 of the GPSA constitution is an independent council with the responsibilities of enforcing and interpreting the Constitution, resolving conflicts between students or group of students, handling all forms of election petitions and impeachment proceedings, amongst others.

The council is made up of 9 members including the chairman, devoid of the members of the Executive council and Senate and with a decision making quorum of 5 members based on a simple majority.

The Jurisdiction of the Judicial Council lies within issues pertaining to the constitution of GPSA KNUST and her members.

From the 2023/2024 Academic year, the Judicial Council started the process of a full constitutional review, alongside a review committee and as of the 2024/2025 academic year, the constitution has been accepted and being used for the running of the association.
