The achievements of Dr Michael Opoku Fordjour and Dr Wireko-Ampong Nana Yaw send GPSA-KNUST soaring in the winds of great pride.

The Ghana Pharmacy Professional Qualifying Examination (GPPQE) is one of the requirements for being recognised as a licensed pharmacist by the Pharmacy Council, Ghana. As per this requirement, the 2023 batch of pharmacy graduates nationwide (Rx ’23) sat for the exam on the 4th of December, 2023 following their graduation on the 16th of November, 2023.

On the 21st of December, 2023, the results of the examination were released and along with it came glad tidings. Out of the 426 graduates who registered for the exam, 333 (about 78.0 %) had a pass. Among them were Dr. Michael Opoku Fordjour and Dr. Wireko-Ampong Nana Yaw, the pacesetter. The former emerged as Overall best and best in Pharmacy Practice while the latter emerged as best in Law and Ethics.

The kind of joy, thrill, self-actualization and sudden emergence into stardom that comes with such an achievement is rewarding, even for GPSA-KNUST. It reflects the kind of quality education that our students are exposed to right from the get-go.
