Upon hearing the gratifying news of the captivating victory of two graduates of GPSA-KNUST namely, Dr. Michael Opoku Fordjour and Dr. Wireko-Ampong Nana Yaw being adjudged Overallbest, Best in Pharmacy Practice and Best in Law and Ethics, the Editorial Committee of GPSA-KNUST engaged the stars in an online interview labelled ” CONVO WITH THE STARS: A DEEP DIVE INTO THE MINDS OF ACHIEVERS” on Saturday, the 23rd of December, 2023 via X Spaces. The purpose of the interview was to probe and find out the secret to their excellence. When asked about the learning technique they employed going into the examination, they both mentioned and subscribed to the group studies style of learning. They
mentioned that although solo studies can be very quick and convenient given the absence of certain interruptions that are often typical of group studies, the cons often outweigh the pros as compared to group studies. “Group studies is a recipe for academic success as it invites new ideas.”, they said, alluding to two familiar axioms: ” If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. ” and ” Two heads are better than one”.
In the course of the interview, some members of the Rx ’23 batch and friends of the guests made a revelation that both stars had a knack for leading such group study sessions and prising compelling and helpful ideas from their mates. Given the proverb, ” In teaching others, we teach ourselves.” and the fact they pulled off such a great feat, this revelation was anything but surprising.
It is evident from their responses from the guests and comments made by their friends and course mates that these achievers took inspiration from a bunch of different witty adages and basic life principles and smushed them into a formula to prepare success in their academic endeavors. We take immense pride in their achievements and their success story is a motivation for all, especially, members of GPSA-KNUST.
AYEKOO!!!
