As the year drew to a close, the Ghana Pharmaceutical Students Association (GPSA-KNUST), presented its annual “Nine Lessons and Spoken Word” event from December 22nd to 30th, 2024, continuing the tradition of sharing messages of hope and inspiration during the holiday season. This virtual celebration blended tradition with creativity, offering a refreshing and spiritually enriching experience to both students and the wider online audience during the holiday season.
This year’s theme, “The Light of the World: A Journey from Promise to Fulfillment,” guided performers as they prepared their contributions. The event showcased pre-recorded videos, released daily across our social media platforms, featuring readings of the traditional Nine Lessons interspersed with spoken word performances by students, pouring their hearts into their segments and interpreting the theme. The online format, a consistent feature of this annual event, allowed the association to extend its reach to the wider student body even during the holiday break. The Editorial Committee was in charge of everything, ensuring each video met the standards. Despite the distance, the warmth of the season still shone through.
The enthusiastic response to this year’s Nine Lessons powerfully underscores the efficacy of our virtual outreach strategies and a testament to our association’s resilience and creativity. The virtual nine lessons and spoken word proved that Christmas could thrive even in a digital world because it was a reminder that connection and celebration could transcend physical boundaries. Driven by this success, GPSA is committed to building on this foundation, fostering even more innovative and actively engaging events during school breaks.
