In a transformative turn of events to improve the gateway to financial aid, GPSA-KNUST unveiled a Scholarship Hub policy on 23rd December 2024. This revolutionary step seeks to link students with myriad scholarship options both within the ambit of KNUST and beyond.
The event was held on Google Meet and engaged by Delali Kwabla Agbemeka (President, GPSA-KNUST) as well as Apam Maxwell (Financial Secretary, GPSA-KNUST). There was inclusive as well as energetic participation from students as well as other university stakeholders which made the session great.
The prime goal which the Scholarship Hub endeavors to achieve is that of closing the informational gap which exists between the potential scholarship applicants and the multitude of schemes. With this initiative, GPSA-KNUST seeks to avail the necessary tools to students striving to accomplish academic milestones. This initiative demonstrates the slow recognition of the overwhelming financial constraints that limit many individuals from realizing their true potential.
Mr. Samuel Bortei, the 57th and 58th National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Scholarship Director, was among the speakers at the event. Mr. Bortei underlined that scholarships are extremely important in improving the accessibility of education and motivated learners to actively look for funding opportunities.
Mr. Joshua Appiah Kubi, the KNUST SRC Financial Secretary, also lined up differently. He shared the experiences of students during this economic recession as well as the urgent need for such initiatives as the Scholarship Hub. He spoke about the potential of the Hub to address students’ financial storm.
Mr. Bismark Bugbillah and Mr. Bawuah Justin, both scholarship recipients, gave compelling testimonials of how scholarships had transformed their academic journeys. Their accounts provided evidence that support for education can indeed, change the lives of honored.
The establishment of the Scholarship Hub serves a purpose greater than an occasion; it is an advancement in the student care GPSA-KNUST provides. With the expansion of this platform, there is hope of many lives being transformed to a reality where students will not have to grapple with the burdens of finances.
